I first began this journey while I was still in my late teens, but life had other plans and took my focus elsewhere. Even then, it couldn’t stop the story unfolding in my mind.
When it was finally time to return, I brought with me years of life, personal growth and new experiences. Alderria had changed with me, and so had its characters. That’s when I realised it was time to take the leap and share this world with others.
Writing The Parting War became more than finishing a story I’d started twenty years before. It was a chance to share a world that had been part of me for far longer than these books have existed.
I hope that, as you journey through Alderria, you find characters to root for, moments to reflect on, and perhaps a little of yourself within its pages.
